Here's how to make it:

  1. Add sugar, bitters, and water to a mixing glass and muddle until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add some ice and Mortlach 20, stirring for a few minutes.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass with a large block of ice and garnish with a cherry and a slice of orange peel.

Salted Caramel Old Fashioned by Karina Sánchez

Here's how to make it:

  1. Place some sea salt into a plastic container and, using a smoking gun, fill the container with applewood smoke. Seal and leave for 1 hour.
  2. Add half a bar spoon of the smoked sea salt per 25ml of caramel syrup.
  3. Add Don Julio 1942, the caramel syrup and ice to a rocks glass and stir thoroughly. Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
