Cragganmore

1971 Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Prima & Ultima First Release

70cl / 43.7% ABV

This Cragganmore comes from the very last cask made at the distillery on coal-fired stills, before the switch to oil-fired steam heating in 1972. It’s a remarkable piece of history from a single first fill ex-Sherry butt, and a bottling that can never be repeated. Matured for almost half a century, the whisky is unusually dark in colour. The nose is rich in sherry top notes, with treacle toffee, prunes in syrup, raisins, and espresso coffee. The flavours run deep, with hints of tarred ropes, dark chocolate and wine-soaked fruits.
